“Dear Tim, First, I want to apologize for the delay in providing the following test data. Things have been hectic here with various projects.

The attached plots for engine oil and transaxle fluid temperatures were part of our ongoing vehicle test/ development program within our Engineering Department and more specifically the Motorsports Group. Part of our program is to determine the operating environment for various systems and components. By monitoring / collecting these fluid temperatures, valuable design data is available for future product improvements. This data was collected via type K thermocouple probes installed in the drain plugs of the oil pan and trans case and an onboard data acquisition system during races and practice sessions.

The vehicles used for our testing, a 1991 Oldsmobile Calais W41 and a 1990 Chevrolet Beretta GTZ, were prepared for competition in the Firestone Firehawk Series by our Engineering Motorsports Group. These cars are very competitive with high race finishes and have lead various races. Both cars are equipped With the GM High Output QUAD 4 engines. The only major difference is the Calais is equipped with a torsen differential and a 3.94 final drive gear ratio.

As you will see by the plots, we had a serious concern about extremely high engine oil and transaxle fluid temperatures. After discussions about our problem with Kim Baker(BAKERACING), we tried the RED LINE lubricants he suggested. The results were very impressive, we were able to see an immediate reduction in the temperature of both lubricants and the shifting effort of the manual transaxle improved. Our original lubricants were MOBIL 1 synthetic oils because of the extreme temperatures, but the change to your products provided the temperature reduction and reduced friction we had been seeking all along. Sheet #3 lists the various temperature plots for our vehicles, please feel free to use this data as needed. Everyone should see the dramatic improvements afforded by your products versus MOBIL 1.
I would like to thank you, from the Motorsports Engineers at Deleo Chassis, for the help you have provided this year. We look forward to working with your company and products for future applications.”

“After being asked to describe my experience with Red Line Oil I had no hesitation in putting pen to paper. My wife and I now run Red Line Oil products in both our turbo street cars, my beach buggy and clubman race car.
It all started when Tim Slako of West Racing was fitting an A.V.O. turbocharger system to our Mazda MX5. We could only manage a boost pressure of 5 psi, even with huge amounts of timing retardation and although the car had a lot more power we had a big problem with pinging. (After all the money we had just spent I was devastated). It was great to run around in a car which now had twice the power at the rear wheels, it really went like a rocket, but the pinging was showing us that detonation was on the cards and that was a worrying prospect.
Tim suggested trying Red Line Oil in the engine and asked me to do the oil change myself so that if there was a change I would know it could only be the oil and nothing but the oil. Now this is where I started to think Tim was obviously working too hard, it couldn’t be an oil problem it had to be a fuel problem (I thought) and I would have to be adding 104+ octane booster at the petrol station every time we filled up, just to keep the thing running safely and not blowing up.
Tim replied, you might be right but humour me, try it and let me know what happens. So straight home I went, jacked the car up, dropped the old oil and added the Red Line Oil. I then test drove that car for 3 hours, the pinging had gone but I kept driving harder and faster and putting the car under extreme loads, and still nothing. I went back delighted the next day to tell Tim my tale, even though I still couldn’t believe it had worked.
He told me he knew the oil would probably solve my problem, but if I had not seen it with my own eyes and put the oil in with my own hands I might think it was some sort of trick or special additive but now there was only one thing to believe, this Red Line Oil really is very special stuff.”

“As you know I have a ’79 model F100 with a 351 Clevo on gas & thermo fans. My truck receives a hammering both in city traffic & long country runs, sometimes towing trailer weights of up to 2 tonne. This means my truck needs regular servicing. I should note the Effy’s had two engine rebuilds in my time so she’s a real working horse.
My truck has always had a problem with running hot, especially in the city and being on gas with just the thermo fans…. stuck in traffic on a hot summers day can be a worry. So when my next service was due, I decided to try some Red Line Engine Oil and WaterWetter. I could not believe the difference it made. The first thing I noticed was the engine ran quieter and the engine idle speed had increased, apparently due to less friction. The running temperature of my truck has reduced so much that it takes an extra five minutes to heat up to running temperature in the mornings.
My next trip with the Effy, was a 3 hour country run on a 40°C day. The engine running temperature sat on low as if it was a cold 15°C day.
My best result however, came when driving around the city. My engine still gets warm but no more than my thermo fans can handle.
I also have the added benefit of extended service intervals every 30,000 kms. This is an advantage to me in my industry as I work all over the country side, and can’t always drop ‘things’ to be there for my next service. Especially if I’m 1600 kms away!
I am so happy with the results I’ve gained to have an old F truck performing like a new one, just by running Red Line. Count me as one of your die hard fans.

“I am the President of the Audi S3 Drivers Club and have noted that a number of our enthusiastic Club members use Red Line Products with noticeable improvements in engine performance.

I have been using your 5W30 grade oil and have found that the reduction in friction has resulted in an extra 2kW in engine performance.

The fact that the oil need only be changed every 20,000km makes it a very economical investment in the life of the engine. Basically you get three (3) times the life of that other expensive brand.

I also use Redline WaterWetter, which helps to keep my turbo engine running smoothly and cool.
The Red Line Range is really designed for enthusiasts like myself who want their car to last forever – so thanks to Red Line for keeping my Audi S3 running like a dream.
